Ron Marks, interviews Settembre Cellars Winemaker, Blake Eliasson, in a two part posting on his Blog "Wine, Pleasure, Beauty". As the title suggests Ron takes a slightly more hedonistic approach to wine but in a manner which does not compromise depth. The sensory and cognitive pleasures of wine. The result: thought provoking questions that were a pleasure to mull over and continue to meditate upon.
Kyla Duffy, the Boulder Small Business Examiner, visits Settembre Cellars at our Holiday Tasting Room in Boulder. We chatted about our passion for winemaking and the potential of Colorado grapes. We'll be at the tasting room the next 3 weekends prior to Christmas.
Mark Antonation, the Denver Drinks Examiner, made the trek to Boulder earlier this summer with his wife Amy to taste our wines at the Gallery Kunst event. A timely post: Settembre is harvest month! Rick Bakas made time to visit Settembre Cellars prior to departing Colorado for his new position in Napa. We discussed the vineyard and winery and also tasted our 2008 Riesling, 2007 Syrah, and 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon. It was really a treat to chat with Rick and present our wines to such a well respected food & wine blogger.
Claire Walter, a local food and wine blogger, was in attendance at a wine tasting event which included Settembre Cellars. Glenn Donharl organized the Rose tasting in which he included our 2007 Sangiovese Rosato along with Rose wines from Spain, Italy, France, and Argentina. It was exciting to have our wine included in a blind tasting! We paired our wine with a recipe introduced to us by Blake's sister: a salsa with black beans, mango, avocado, and queso blanco.
